Fabric District in Dallas and Miscellaneous



This was our second stop and a pretty good stop.



Began our journey down
Harry Hines Boulevard
looking for fabric...

This fabric warehouse had a very different type of fabric.
It was NOT air-conditioned so needless to say,
I was sweating BIG TIME!!



This one was great...had beautiful fabric.  I must say that it was a little pricey for my checkbook (but remember, I am a "junkie") but there were some fabrics that I actually salivated over.  I did find two close contenders for my curtains.  They even gave me samples to play with at home. 





We grabbed a quick bite to eat and headed to......does the frog help you....yes, McKinney.  We like McKinney for looking, but too pricey!! They do have a beautiful downtown though. 

We did stop and actually shop at one of our favorite places in McKinney.....



YUM!!  I bought Hot Cheese and Carmel!!
Will be great tonight while I watch "It's Complicated".

  Got home....and it started blowing and blowing and blowing.  We did get some rain and it was wonderful even though we had no power until 11pm.  (Read in bed by flashlight!!)



All in all, it was a great day. 
I will post some treasures later....

 Look what I found today!! 

The turquoise chair is really a chair we had in storage and our wonderful painter finally got
a hold of it.  Beautiful....

We are going to make sure this little table is
sturdy and tight.  Then it will be Junk Divas!!

I love this globe but NO, I won't keep it!!

Ok, should I distress this great turquoise chair or leave it as it is?

As you can see, there is a small pumpkin vine
growing inside. 
This is about mid-May.

Now it is almost the end of June.  You can tell because my grass is suffering
in the Texas heat.
But look at this pumpkin vine. 

So much fun!!

Pencil Sculpture....

Pencil Lead Sculpture

A friend sent this picture to me so I am not able to give the name of the artist.

I sure wish I could because I love this...

It's just incredible!! 

This artist carved each letter of the alphabet

into the lead of each pencil.

I love a good, sharp pencil.

See....I am an addicted "doodler"!

Any conference, any church service, any place where I haved a pencil in hand and some kind of paper, you will find "doodles". 

So, you can see why this artwork appeals to me visually.

BUT... it also appeals to the pencil-loving doodler that I am too!!

Just thought I share this for fun!!



So sorry that I haven't blogged in awhile.

It's been then end of a school year and it just gets crazy.

As a teacher, when I get home from the last day of school,

I am pretty wiped out.

However, all I can think about are all the projects that I want to do

and places I want to travel so I can find more treasures. 

So the next day (Saturday) I go to the Junk Diva shop

and have a great time visiting with our customers and friends.

Sunday, is church day and I love my church. 

It is joy to know that My Jesus loves me, forgives me and is with me daily.

Then Monday.....I don't have to go to school!!

So....why did I get up at 5:00?

Why do I feel like I have to get ready and get things done?

Just the way I am!!

Soon, I will post how my kitchen remodel is going....

My husband has been so wonderful doing all of this "kitchen" stuff.

He is a true HANDY-MAN!!
